We hold to the following principles so that we can make the best investments for partners and stakeholders over the longest possible time horizon.

Seek adequate margin of safety. Acquire assets cheaply enough so that they can better weather market disruptions or a downturn.

Focus on value. As an investor, you have more control over the price you pay for an asset than over the price you can sell it for later in the capital markets. We seek to make our profits on the purchase, not on the sale.

Use prudent amounts of debt. Do not stretch for maximum leverage. Seek debt terms that favor the equity holders in the event of distress.

Solve problems. Get paid to solve other people’s problems.

Never compromise on principles in the name of expediency. Be willing to suffer short-term setbacks in the service of long-term results.
